These red-and-green holiday cards, featuring Hans Hofmann's Autumn Gold (1957) from the National Gallery of Art collection, will add an artful twist to your correspondence this year. The inside greeting reads: "Seasons Greetings and warm wishes for the New Year."

Autumn Gold is an important example of Hofmann's most familiar body of work. These images are distinguished by heavy rectangular slabs of intense colors. The painterly edges seen here become more sharply defined in later works.
