Martha D. Pollak is Associate Professor of Art History at The University of Illinois in Chicago. She is the author of The Education of the Architect: Historiography, Urbanism, and the Growth of Architectural Knowledge and Turin, 1564-1680: Urban Design, Military Culture, and the Creation of the Absolutist Capital.
