Paul Klee Sailboat Pen

About the Artist

Though Paul Klee (1879–1940) has been variously associated with expressionism, cubism, futurism, surrealism, and abstraction, his works are not easily classified as he was inventive in his methods, techniques, and mediums. Klee is known for his simple stick figures, fish, moon faces, eyes, arrows, and quilts of color, which he orchestrated into whimsical and childlike, yet deeply meditative, works.
