Monet's signature landscapes, cityscapes, and especially his painted gardens remain among the most beloved paintings by art enthusiasts the world over. Over the course of Monet's career, illustrated here through works spanning more than 40 years, his technique and vision developed. His art, originally grounded in the realism of direct observation, eventually reflected his interest in rendering an abstract sensation of nature.
