2019 Georgia O'Keeffe Wall Calendar

About the Artist

Among the great artists of the 20th century, American modernist Georgia O'Keeffe (1887–1986) stands out as one of the most compelling. For nearly a century, she created innovative impressionist artwork that challenged perceptions and kept evolving throughout her life. One of the first female painters to achieve worldwide acclaim from critics and the public alike, her still lifes and cityscapes filled her canvases with great energy not seen before in the art world. Her representations of the beauty of the American landscape and her magnified flower paintings are especially beloved.

This 2019 wall calendar includes 12 unmistakable flower paintings by American artist Georgia O'Keeffe, ranging from her early New York days to her time in New Mexico. So strong is the association between O'Keeffe and New Mexico that it is easy to forget how many of her oversize flower pictures were painted in New York. Between 1918 and 1929, she divided her time between New York City and the Adirondack Mountains, painting cityscapes, pastoral Lake George scenes, and the singular flower studies that brought her international acclaim in the mid-1920s.
